Fears Archive - 1924 gent's cushion case watch
The Brunswick’s design is inspired by the glamour of the 1920s and 30s. In this era of the first wrist watches, the round watch case that is so prevalent today had yet to achieve its dominance.
One of the most popular shapes for watches in the 1920s and 30s was the cushion case -- an elegantly rounded square with a circular dial. Fears produced many watches in this shape, such as this 1924 sterling silver example from our archives.
This watch and its graceful curves inspired the lines of the Brunswick today. Modern machining techniques allow us to add complexity to the clean silhouette with additional curves and radii.
