The Brunswick Midas II marks the re-introduction of a key piece to the Fears core collection and continues the legacy of elegance and luxury of the original Brunswick Midas (2018-2021).
This evolution exudes opulence with a rich 22ct yellow gold-plated case perfectly complemented by a frosted 18ct yellow gold champagne dial (the gold-on-gold theme inspired by a 1973 watch from the Fears Archive). This limited production piece comes with two straps that can give either a classic 1970s look or a more contemporary feel.

Graceful and complex, the curvaceous Brunswick is an exacting object to create. It takes its inspiration from a gentleman’s cushion case watch in the Fears archives, first made in 1924, and a dial colour used in the 1940s and 50s.
CASE
The Brunswick’s elegant 38mm cushion-shaped case has no flat surfaces, with even the solid case back having a gentle sweep. The case’s graceful curves are machined from 316L stainless steel, to a level usually reserved for precious metals. The depth of the polish showcases the sophistication of the machinery and the skill of the operator.
The Brunswick Midas II's case has then been meticulously plated in heavy layers of 22ct yellow gold by one of the UK's leading specialists (who applied the same plating to the prototype London 2012 Olympic Torch used to promote those momentous games).
The Brunswick is manually wound each day using our bespoke ‘onion’-shaped winding crown, signed with the Fears Cypher. The crown’s fine grooves catch the light, adding a touch of radiance to the edge of the case.
CASEBACK
The Brunswick Midas II comes with the option of either:

Closed caseback - offering the perfect canvas for personalisation with a custom engraving (please discover engraving options here).
Please note; as per tradition, whilst the case has been gold-plated the caseback will remain in un-plated stainless steel with a spun finish.
DIAL
The Brunswick Midas II features a hand-finished champagne dial which reproduces the rich colour of the famous sparkling wine. Finished with layers of 18ct yellow gold, the dial has a golden warmth that blends seamlessly with the golden case giving a strong 1970s influence.
Expertly made in Germany, the surface of the watch face features a glass bead blasted finish, resulting in a frosted appearance with a gentle sparkle. The main surface finish is complemented by concentric circle finishing on the sunken sub-seconds at 6 o’clock.
The numerals are applied to the dial by hand, after being diamond polished to a mirror shine and coated in Black Gold, a special alloy of gold that is black in appearance. This unusual shade allows each numeral to turn from a warm silver to a brown-black with the flick of the wrist. The numerals are realised in our custom bespoke ‘Edwin’ typeface, specially designed for Fears by our horological typographer and inspired by the many different typefaces the company has used throughout its history.
HANDS
The Brunswick Midas II features iconic ‘Fears’-shaped hands expertly made in Germany. Skeletonised and finished in blue using physical vapor deposition, the colour of the hands changes from almost black to electric blue in the light.
MOVEMENT
The Brunswick Midas II is powered by a Swiss made, manual winding ETA 7001 movement. This accurate movement was first designed in the 1970s, and its reliability has ensured its continuing popularity today. Each movement features blued screws and Côtes de Genève striping with bridges plated in precious Rhodium.
STRAPS
The Brunswick Midas II comes with two straps, each giving the golden watch a different look and feel:
- Fears Blue strap handcrafted from premium Barenia leather with tonal stitching, that when paired with the gold lends a classic feel to the watch.
- Chalk Blue strap handcrafted from Alcantara® that offers unrivalled aesthetic, technical and tactile qualities, with the soft feel of suede.
Both straps come with quick-release springbars allow you to change between the two (or any other strap you choose to pair your Midas II with) without the need for any tools.
Both straps are finished with a special matching gold-plated edition of Fears' new bespoke pin buckle (featuring the Fears Cypher).
Customise
You can customise your Fears Brunswick Midas II with any strap designed for a 20mm lug width, including any strap from our range, which you can easily fit yourself without tools.
INDIVIDUALLY NUMBERED
Each watch we make carries a unique serial number. Engraved discreetly on the case, this number helps us identify your watch and its history.
AMOS BOX
The entire Fears core collection is now presented in a slim, rectangular, wooden box made of solid ash and stained in our bespoke Fears Blue colour. This luxury box was inspired by traditional slim Fears watch boxes used in the past, in which the watch lay flat. Recognising the companies heritage, we called this box the Amos, after the 2nd and 3rd Managing Directors.
The top of the box is discretely engraved with the Fears logo and features a gentle bevel around its edges, whilst the interior is lined in genuine cream suede. The box is secured by a polished chrome push button, keeping your watch safe and secure.
ENGRAVED PERSONAL TO YOU
Fears offers an engraving service whereby a watch can be made personal to its new owner. We work with one of the UK's leading 3D laser engravers who can engrave initials, a date, or a special verse on your watch.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES
If you are unhappy with your Fears watch for any reason, you have up to 14 days from receiving it to return or exchange it. Please email sales@fearswatches.com to discuss returning the watch.Please note: Returns are only accepted for items purchased directly from the Fears Watch Company Limited. For items purchased from an Authorised Stockist, please contact them to arrange a return in accordance with their returns policy. Items must be returned in new, unused, and saleable condition, with the complete original packaging, literature, and accessories. Returns not received in this manner may be sent back to the customer.
All Fears wristwatches purchase directly from the Fears Watch Company Limited and Authorised Fears Stockists come with a Fears Guarantee (the ‘Guarantee’). The Guarantee is valid for two years from the original date of purchase as recorded in the Fears WatchBook issued with your Fears watch. Any claims made under the Guarantee require proof of purchase and sight of the Fears WatchBook. In the first instance a fault with the Fears watch will be repaired free of charge or, if the watch is not able to be repaired, it will be replaced with a Fears watch of a similar model.
The Guarantee covers defects in materials or mechanical failure of the case, crystal (glass), watch movement, dial, and hands during the two-year period.
The Guarantee does not cover:
- defects in materials of the strap or buckle;
- pre-owned watches not sold directly by the Fears Watch Company Limited or by an Authorised Fears Stockist;
- damage due to general wear and tear and ageing of the watch;
- damage due to abnormal storage;
- damage due to the watch not being operated in accordance with the user instructions;
- damage caused by normal use, accidents or misuse; damage caused by contact with moisture or water; or
- any alterations or repairs conducted by anyone other than Fears or those recommended by Fears.
To ensure the reliable running of your Fears watch for years to come, please do not engage anyone other than Fears or those recommended by Fears to conduct servicing, repair, or engraving. The Guarantee becomes void in the event of servicing, repair, or engraving by any person other than Fears or those recommended by Fears.
The Guarantee does not in any way affect your rights against Fears nor any other mandatory statutory rights you may have.
