The mid-century Brunswick.

The Fears Brunswick 38 Topper Edition 'Silver Sector' references the year Topper was founded, 1940, and encapsulates the sleek and intricate style of the mid-century era.

This third instalment of the Fears x Topper journey marks a notable departure from the previous ‘California Dial’ collaborations with Topper. The sector dial design is inspired by and pays reverence to both the era's design ethos and 1930s/40s models from the Fears archive.

  • Case: 38mm, stainless steel, polished, 20mm lug width
  • Dial: Rhodiumised / silver-white dial, opaline / galvanic finish with black printing
  • Strap: Black, premium Barenia leather, handmade
  • Movement: LJP D100, time only, manual winding
  • Water Resistance: 100 metres (10 ATM)
  • Limited Edition: 40 pieces only

Hand-built in Britain in small batches.

Graceful and complex, the curvaceous Brunswick is an exacting object to create. It takes its inspiration from a gentleman’s cushion case watch in the Fears archives, first made in 1924.

CASE

The Brunswick’s elegant 38mm cushion-shaped case has no flat surfaces, with even the solid case back having a gentle sweep. The case’s graceful curves are machined from 316L stainless steel, to a level usually reserved for precious metals. The depth of the polish showcases the sophistication of the machinery and the skill of the operator.

The Brunswick 38 Topper Edition 'Silver Sector' is manually wound each day using our bespoke ‘onion’-shaped winding crown, signed with the Fears Cypher. The crown’s fine grooves catch the light, adding a touch of radiance to the edge of the case.

DIAL

The Brunswick 38 Topper Edition 'Silver Sector' features a two-tone rhodiumised and silver-white mid-century inspired sector dial.

Expertly made in Germany, the surface of the dial is a two-tone finish (split over two sections) and features an prominent sub-seconds at the 6'oclock position (larger than that on our standard Brunswick 38 dial).

  • Central Section – a genuine Opaline finish using a traditional method of polishing with straw and given a rhodiumised finish (with printed sectoring)
  • Outer Section – a silver-white finish with a galvanic coating in pure silver
  • Sub-Seconds - a concentric micro-circular guilloche finish also in pure silver

The hand-applied indices (featuring 12, 6 and 9 numerals alongside hour batons) are milled from a block of brass before being diamond polished and then coated in black gold, giving them a bright, black/brown/silver appearance.

    HANDS

The Brunswick 38 Topper Edition 'Silver Sector' features iconic ‘Fears’-shaped hands expertly made in Germany. Skeletonised and finished in a coating of black gold that perfectly matches the polished 3D numerals.

    MOVEMENT

The Brunswick 38 Topper Edition 'Silver Sector' is powered by a Swiss-made, manual winding La Joux-Perret D100 movement. This movement is the top-grade version, with an extended 50 hour power reserve and finished with Côtes de Genève and blued screws.

    STRAP

The Brunswick 38 Topper Edition 'Silver Sector' is fitted with a handmade Black strap crafted from a premium Barenia leather with tonal stitching and fold-over edges that gives this watch an even more luxurious and contemporary feel.

The premium leather used for this strap takes its name from the village of Barr in Alsace, from where it originates. Traditionally used for saddles, this smooth calfskin leather requires a complex tanning process, known by only a small number of craftsmen.

Lined in genuine Alcantara® dyed a deep shade of blue, this lining is supremely soft against the skin yet resistant against wear. This strap is finished with Fears' new bespoke pin buckle (featuring the Fears Cipher).

    BRACELET

The Brunswick 38 Topper Edition 'Silver Sector' is also available to purchase with Fears bespoke stainless steel 5-link bracelet.

The bracelet features expertly brushed and polished sold screw links and has a substantial feel while the silky-smooth movement of the links ensure a comfortable fit around the wrist. The bracelet can be micro-adjusted with both the 8mm and 6mm links provided, ensuring a perfect fit.

The bracelet is secured to the wrist using a trigger-release butterfly style clasp with the Bristol flower enamelled discreetly inside the blades.

The Brunswick 38 features a 20 mm lug width and is designed to fit all of the straps in our range. The bracelet can be removed without tools using its quick-release springbars.

    INDIVIDUALLY NUMBERED

Each watch we make carries a unique serial number. Engraved between the 20mm lugs at 12 o’clock, this number helps us identify your watch and its history.

    ENGRAVED CASEBACK

The Brunswick 38 Topper Edition 'Silver Sector' is finished with a subtle closed back - featuring a unique engraving design and Limited Edition number.

    AMOS BOX

All Fears watches are now presented in a slim, rectangular, wooden box made of solid ash and stained in our bespoke Fears Blue colour. This luxury box was inspired by traditional slim Fears watch boxes used in the past, in which the watch lay flat. Recognising the companies heritage, we called this box the Amos, after the 2nd and 3rd Managing Directors.

The top of the box is discretely engraved with the Fears logo and features a gentle bevel around its edges, whilst the interior is lined in genuine cream suede. The box is secured by a polished chrome push button, keeping your watch safe and secure.
